Founded with a deep commitment to early childhood care and neurodevelopmental support, Alora for Kids is a specialised child development centre dedicated to helping children reach their full potential. We provide a safe, nurturing, and expert-led environment for children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, speech and language challenges, behavioural concerns, learning difficulties, and more.

Founder

Adv. Bijitha S Khan

Advocate | Child Rights Expert | Legal-Psychology Professional | Master Trainer | POSH Consultant

With over 12 years of dedicated experience in child protection, women’s rights, legal advocacy, and psychosocial care, Adv. Bijitha S Khan is a widely respected advocate, master trainer, and expert working at the critical intersection of law, mental health, and social justice.

As the former Legal officer at the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Kerala, Adv Bijitha has led and implemented systemic reforms to protect children, promote gender justice, and ensure safe environments for vulnerable populations.

She holds a BA LLB (Hons.) from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, and an MSc in Psychology from Madras University, equipping her to work holistically across legal and behavioral health domains.

Bijitha has collaborated with reputed national and international organizations such as UNICEF, NIMHANS, and NIPCCD, and has played key roles in flagship projects including:

  • Kaval Project: Psychosocial support and legal counseling for children in conflict with the law
  • RC Project: Program design and capacity-building
  • doption Services: Legal and psychological support
  • omen’s Law Modules: Developed for training programs under various Government of Kerala departments
  • raining of Trainers (ToT): For police, educators, social workers, and government staff

She has also served as an External Member of Internal Committees (IC) under the POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) for various public and private organizations, guiding workplaces to remain safe, legally compliant, and gender-sensitive.

As a seasoned trainer, she has conducted hundreds of workshops and capacity-building programs for:

  • Police personnel
  • Government and CBSE school educators
  • College students and faculty
  • NGO workers and community leaders
  • Children, parents, and care professionals

She is the Founder of Alora Paediatric Wellness and Research Center, an initiative that integrates child development, legal counseling, and psychological wellness, and Co-founder of Kanal Charitable Society, a nonprofit supporting women and child welfare. She is also a Lifetime Member of the Centre for Behavior Modification and Research.

Her areas of expertise include:

  • Juvenile justice and child protection law
  • Counseling psychology and trauma-informed care
  • POSH compliance and workplace safety
  • Legal module development and government training programs
  • Multi-sectoral collaboration for child and women’s rights

Karthika Krishnan

Psychologist | Counselling Psychology Trainer | Child Rights Expert

With over 9 years of dedicated experience in the field of child development and protection, Karthika Krishnan is a highly respected psychologist, trainer, and expert in counseling psychology and child rights. She has made a significant impact across various domains, especially in the areas of child mental health, education, and empowerment.

Karthika has collaborated with prominent organizations such as UNICEF, Kerala Police, CEMAT, and SERT, leading and contributing to several projects focused on child well-being. She has been instrumental in developing modules and training programs for children, educators, parents, and professionals, with a strong emphasis on psychological well-being, child rights, and inclusive practices.

Her work extends to marginalized communities, including tribal regions, where she has been actively involved in designing and implementing context-sensitive interventions. As a passionate trainer, she has conducted numerous workshops and capacity-building sessions for stakeholders working with children.

Karthika’s core areas of expertise include:

  • Child and adolescent mental health
  • Counseling psychology and therapeutic interventions
  • Child protection and rights advocacy
  • Training and curriculum development
  • Working with children in tribal and underprivileged settings
